The last few weeks has left us little opportunity to get out in the garden. The wet weather resulted in a large amount of surface water and mud at the end of the graden. In fact we had a small lake in front of the house for a few days never mind at the end of the vegetable plot.
One thing that could be worked on is the planting for the start of the year. So out have come the packets of seeds and all that remains is to wait for the compost to defrost.
The first seeds of the year to be planted this year are:
Artichoke - Gros De Laon
Artichoke - Violetta Di Chioggia
Cucumber - Boothby's Blonde
Aubergine - Szechuan
Melon - Hero of Lockinge
Melon - Earlygold F1
Tomato - San Marzano
Tomato - Black Krim
Tomato - Costoluto Fiorentino
Tomato - Pink Cherry
Peperone - Friggitello
Pepper - Jalapeno
Pepper - Hungarian Hot Wax
Pepper - Scotch Bonnet
Pepper - Cayenne
Sweet Pea - Blue Velvet
Sweet Pea - Cupani (grandiflora)
This years great adventure begins...
